Sausage and Veggie Naan Bread Pizza

One of the best things I learned when I started to eat healthier a few years ago was to learn what usually caused me to spiral when it came to food. I figured out what I craved the most and identified what I would always order out. Pizza was definitely one of them! I can eat a whole medium pizza by myself. Sometimes in one sitting. Yikes. However, my stomach hates it. I’ve suffered from IBS-C most of my life, so there are many foods I have to avoid. If I splurge on those foods, I know I’ll be miserable.

So I started making these naan flatbread pizzas at home and not only are they a healthier option, they are super easy to make! I literally can have this pizza prepped, cooked and on a plate in twenty minutes. You can customize these and make them your own for sure!

Naan Bread Pizza Ingredients

  • Naan Flatbread

  • Olive Oil

  • Pesto

  • Vegan Cheese (or cheese of your choice)

  • Turkey sausage (or sausage/meat of your choice)

  • Roasted Petite Tomatoes

  • Baby Kale

  • Kalamata Olives

  • Thyme

  • Sea Salt

  • Oregano

How to Cook Naan Bread Pizza

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees

  2. Toss the tomatoes in olive oil with salt, garlic powder and pepper

  3. Put the tomatoes in a small roasting pan or on a baking sheet and into the oven

  4. Roast tomatoes until they are bursting a bit

  5. Saute sausage in a pan

  6. Place naan bread on a baking sheet and spread olive oil on top. Then spread on the pesto.

  7. Begin to layer on other ingredients as the tomatoes and sausage finish cooking: cheese, kale, olives and then the tomatoes and sausage once they’re done.

  8. Place flatbread in the oven and cook for about 6-8 minutes until cheese is melted

  9. When pizza is done, sprinkle the top with sea salt and oregano

Super easy, delicious meal! Good option for a quick lunch or dinner. I usually pair mine with a salad or veggies. I hope you try it! Let me know how you love it and how you made it your own. Share with your friends on social!
