If Money Were No Object

If money were no object, what would you do? How would you spend your life—day by day, hour by hour, and minute by minute? For many people who aren’t satisfied with life or wish that they were living differently, the first thing they would say is “well I don’t have the money for that”. This may be your situation, but this doesn’t mean that we can’t dream about it right?

If money were no object, I would spend my days traveling to different places around the country that are beautifully inspiring with my husband. I’d stay there, in cabins or on beaches, writing all day.

I’d write enough blogs for a year, enough articles to be featured in all my dream magazines and enough books to publish for the next decade. I’d write and let my imagination be inspired by the nature around me, the crisp air I would breathe and the mist in the wind that would tickle my face.

I would fall in love with my husband’s inspired spirit daily as he takes in the scenery and captures it all with his camera. I’d make all of the food I’ve pinned on Pinterest and have mimosas with different type of omelets and pancakes every day.

I would create an atmosphere that I usually gush over in the movies or on Instagram. You know the ones I’m talking about! Homes that look like they’ve never been touched or as if Home Goods decorated it themselves.

I’d live a fairly simply life, that mainly just involves traveling, seeing the world and being able to say—I did that. That’s why we live right? We live for experiences that propel us and help us grow and add to our being.

However, we often end up doing the opposite. We end up living to work, instead of working to live. We end up being property to the clock we punch and making ends meet becomes the main priority. While that’s important, that’s not the life we were meant to have.

You don’t have to stay in this situation forever. We can go the places we want to go. Live in the homes and neighborhoods we want. Have the jobs we desire. It just takes some dedication, vision and work.

If you have debt that is holding you back, work to knock the debt down. I follow an awesome blog, Broke on Purpose, where a couple is documenting their journey to becoming debt free in order to live the lives they want. It’s taking sacrifice, but in the end it will be worth it.

So how about you? If money were no object, what would you do? How are you working to get a life similar to this or to bridge the gap between your dream and reality?
